All my life, my greatest joy has been to understand complex connections and experience an epiphany.
So much so, that I always feel an urge to bring the same joy to others and make them share it by explaining what I found.
Of my many interests, I have chosen my passions for raptors as well as for classic sailing craft to illustrate how all is almost miraculously intertwined.
Meet Gunter
Mechanical engineer and MBA, my career in strategy consulting and industry started in the last millennium. Since 2006, I am a successful entrepreneur running my own boutique consultancy Débrouillage Ltd. mainly in Europe and with a 100% daughter company in China.
I have consulted personally to dozens of global fortune 100 and 500 companies: Mainly industrial corporations, large institutional investors and top management- as well as turnaround - consultants, providing them with vital facts and insights.
I've always regarded myself as a generalist.
Besides technology and business, I am very interested in history, geopolitics and macroeconomics as well as China in particular.
For that mix, I have created the Maverick Diplomat.
I am fluent in English, French and Spanish after living a total of 18+ years in foreign countries (US, Spain, France, Switzerland, China and others). I live in Germany and Southern France now.
With my French-Spanish wife we have 2 sons.
My two very time consuming private passions are falconry (flying a northern goshawk) and my historic wooden sailboat (Tahiti Ketch, a 1923 design).

I consider you, my clients, discussion partners or readers the "Guru".
In the metaphorical sense of being among best in your field(s), what ever they might be.
love to deal with people who are better than me in what they do.
It doesn't matter what it is:
Could be business, science, liberal professions, politics, art, falconry or sailing ...
All I care for is what makes an individual special and exceptionally good in any given domain.
For such people, my technique is most applicable.
As to myself, already in high-school, my nickname was
"Guru Gunter", and I like to think it was not only due to the alliteration.
You are the king. Let me play your jester, a delicate blend of seriousness packaged in an inoffensive and pleasant way. We will make sure you spend a good time while learning something valuable.
Drop for once the "court etiquette" of your world.
Laugh with and about me, and about yourself too. For my technique to work, open-mindedness is key, and humor helps greatly in that, With the jester, you don't need to pretend anything, nor to focus.
But careful, the jester counts on you not to "kill the messenger".
The jester is the most trusted advisor. Who else dares to speak truth to power?
